Kaapsehoop Horse Trails is set on a picturesque farm nestled atop the Drakensberg escarpment, on the outskirts of Kaapsehoop. It offers a comfortable retreat for nature enthusiasts and is ideally suited for a family or group of friends seeking a peaceful weekend getaway.
Accommodation is offered in a choice of 3 unique and tastefully furnished houses. The guest house sleeps 6 guests while the Stable House accommodates 4 guests and the Trail House sleeps up to 12 guests. Each house has a kitchen which is well-equipped to meet guests’ basic self-catering needs while a braai area is also available for each unit.
A restaurant available on the farm where guests can enjoy scrumptious meals, refreshments and snacks. Guests also have access to secure parking.
Horseback riding along guided trails are offered on the farm while activities in the area include hiking and historical tours.
The main house comprises 3 bedrooms and can accommodate 6 guests. It features a double bed in the main bedroom while the remaining bedrooms both have twin single beds. The shared bathroom is fitted with a bath and shower. Its kitchen is well-equipped to meet guests’ self-catering needs.
This, the original stable complex from the early forestry years, was where the foresters kept their horses. They were used for both transport and timber extraction. Stable House still has the alluring atmosphere of a stable. It accommodates a maximum of four people in the double room while the bedroom hosts two single beds. There’s a bathroom, a kitchen that’s equipped for basic cooking needs and a private veranda with a braai facility.
The charming farmhouse can accommodate 12 guests in 3 bedrooms. The main bedroom contains a double bed while the second bedroom has 2 bunk beds and the third bedroom has 3 bunk beds. The bathroom is shared between the guests and is fitted with a bath. The kitchen features a fridge-freezer, stove, oven, kettle, basic utensils and a dining table. There is a patio as well as a braai area outside the unit.
